“Tapping for Terriers!” An Evening of Awesome Talent and Fun on October 25, 2015 — A Great Success!

We  are fortunate that among our wonderful (multiple) adopters is the talented, spirited go-getter Brandee Williams Lara Barnaby. Most recently Brandee adopted both Nino the Wire (formerly Lance of Las Vegas) and Rosie the Welsh (formerly Jolly also from Las Vegas). When Brandee learned that the Rescue needed an infusion of funds,  she went right to work doing what a Broadway star and college Professor of Dance does best: Produces a show to benefit ATRA! Brandee recruited her friend, Sammy Williams to be our star. Sammy has performed on Broadway (with Brandee) and most notably, won the Tony Award for “A Chorus Line.” His one man show was magnificent and included a tribute to his special needs dog, Ricky and a poignant rendition of the song, “Dog Passages,” that had the audience in tears.
It was a fun-filled night, though — good food, wonderful silent auction items, and fabulous talent.
We are so grateful to all the talent who volunteered their time and expertise to our show,  to the volunteers from Chapman College who manned the admissions and auction tables, to Carl Lee who secured the venue and headed up the food menu, to Anthony Gagliardi who donated his beautiful home for the event, to all who donated and secured extraordinary silent auction items, and, of course to Brandee, whose love of terriers knows no bounds and resulted in a successful fund-raising extravaganza that exceeded our wildest expectations!
