Ranger and the Cat Dilemma

In early December, Ranger’s owner in Altadena was sadly but desperately needing to rehome his Wire, seven-year-old Ranger. They had been companions since Ranger was a puppy, but the home situation changed to include cats. Wires, with their prey drive, can be an outright danger to cats. And when unsupervised one day, Ranger got into serious trouble doing what Wires do when their prey instincts kick in.

About the same time, Joe in Palm Springs was looking for a companion for his Wire, Chloe. ATRA facilitated having the parties meet and the dogs wrote the happy ending to this story. It was a very Happy New Year for Ranger! Ranger now lives in the lap of luxury enjoying sunshine, the pool and lots of playtime with his new pal Chloe. He doesn’t miss those cats at all!
